Sandy Ridge & Clear Lake Railway
The
original
website
went
online
in
the
late
1990s.
The
second/previous
website
went
online
in
2006.
Now
20
years
later,
many
technology
changes
have
come
to
about,
so
a
new
website
is
being
built.
This
will
take
time
(months).
This
is
not
a
rebuild
or
upgrade,
but
a
new
site
from
scratch.
Some
20
years
ago,
many
used
a
PC
and
dial-up
modem,
the
common
screen
resolution
was
800x600
later
1024x768 resolution. Today most PC monitors are 1920x1080 resolution or higher. And remember, older pictures were ‘taken’ in a small format, so will still be small today.
Now…
many
use
a
smartphone
for
web-surfing.
Hum…
they
come
here
to
see
1/3
size
trains,
using
a
little
4
inch
screen
(?).
This
requires
more
back-end
website
setup.
Image
taking
a
single
page
flyer, an 8.5 x 11” format, and having to reformat it to print on a 3x5 index card. Now it takes 3 cards front and back and lots of reformatting to fit. Thus ‘mobile’ screens require extra work.
A
hosting
server
change
in
2024
and
again
in
2025,
gave
the
site
the
secure
‘https’
level.
Gotta
luv
security.
As
such,
the
back
in
folder
names
were
changed.
All
the
pages
got
a
new
folder
name.
Thus
links on the previous site were invalid. Image having your ‘area code’ changed, how many people would you have to go tell (5 people, 25, or hundreds). Lots of web recoding.
OK, its now Spring of 2026, the new site goes online, and recent photo albums and videos area back available. Over the coming months, past material will be re-loaded.
If you have questions or quality feedback, please send me an email.

May 2026 - various formats from the web site to the slideshow appearance were reviewed and tested and picked
June 3, 2026 - enough delays, switched over to the new site. Primary pages are back online (many same as past, some changes). Recent photos were reloaded using the new Slideshow software (the
