INTERNATIONAL HOBBIES
( not an official web-site for I.H. )
International Hobbies is
developing and distributing a line of ¼ inch scale narrow gauge (On30) rolling
stock and locomotive kits.
These kits are designed to be
compatible with the Bachmann® Porter 0-4-0 and 0-4-2 saddle tank locomotives,
Shay and other small gauge O
scale narrow gauge locomotives. While these kits do not represent a specific
prototype they are
characteristic of small wood narrow
gauge freight cars that were in use from the 1880’s to the 1930’s or even
later. The kits draw
on prototype features found on
the Gilpin tram, West Side Lumber Co., Sandy River & Rangley
Lakes and other narrow gauge railroads.
They are short, a little over 14
and 20 scale feet over the end sills, and look great with small locomotives
like the Porter and Shay.
This line of kits will appeal to
those who model narrow gauge and especially those interested in logging,
mining, industrial or short lines,
and those that are new to O scale
narrow gauge, especially On30. The trucks are available separately.
This web-site is temporarily setup by
Frolin Marek, to provide a sample location to view some of the photos of cars I
have
showing cars in an assembled status, from
International Hobbies. This is not an
official web-site for International Hobbies.
