Switching is my main interest, but you need an industry and spur to help make switching fun. To add more life, looks and character, I placed appropriate structures on the layout, at the spur locations. Many of these were suppose to be temporary, but lasted well over a year. Some structures were simply poster or hard-board mock-ups, painted and given details.

Two mines operated in the Loma Alta, making for interesting switch moves	The Molly K mine required the use of the grade to back in to the mine spur	The Teresa K mine had crews use the switch-back tail to reach its spur.
Loma Alta depot had only a front and side wall, hiding an access hole behind.	Many argued which was the reflection of the warehouse. Hint: look at the car	Los Pinos was a busy town, here is the team track, depot and freight house
False fronts are great, add depth and business locations for switching	Using 1/2" doll house parts, details can be added to any G gauge scene	This building has a side-extension giving it character and more looks
A simple structure but much needed facility to justify the tank cars	Paul is an HO scale, NYC RR fan. He custom painted and lettered two Gn3 hoppers for my Christmas gifts.	I used simple block and cab control. Track plan less turntable, is correct.
