Construction on the original Gn3 layout

From 1991 thru 1996, I worked on benchwork, trackwork and started hard-shell scenery. These photos are a quick overview of the contruction on the layout. The layout had hand-laid track and scratch-built switches with slow-motion turnout motors. A main control panel with two throttles and PFM sound systems for on-board, controlled locomotive sounds. Please note the empty room, windows and sun shining in, and fire-place that all gets "covered up" for the train layout!
