Santa Fe  F Units

A third set of F units were built for export.  This A–B pair was painted for the

Santa Fe Railroad in Warbonnet colors.  A good start to finish picture group.

A historic day, the BLW (Bogs Locomotive Works) shops rolled out it’s final set of F units. It was a long time coming for the

crew in the paint shop, as the last of the masking tape and paper was pulled from the engines. The Santa Fe Warbonnet

paint job was difficult at best. The engines made their maiden voyage on the C&W RR, but soon after was shipped out to

other rails for their life of service. The units are strictly DC powered, with a two amp battery to power the 20+ lights

in the two units at full brightness all the time. A mars light shines bright in the upper headlight. The Phoenix sound is strong

and the two engines will pull the wall down!                         -  Barry                                                                                   .
