Words from Barry
on progress:
Pictures of the
casting masters for the F3 engine I am building. It took two days, just to get
all the rivets on the sides! I still need to make masters
for the tanks
and battery boxes, but I want to get the main body assembled together first, so
that I can see just how big they need to be. I will
splice two sides
together to make the sides for the B unit, as well as the roof will be two
parts. Dennis Mashburn made some tire castings for me,
that you see in
one of the pictures. I am planning on making a mold that I can drop the tire
into and then fill it with urethane, to make the wheel
contour and
insulate it from the axle. I will center drill the wheel in the lath, and press
it on to a knurled axle. Once I get the body castings made
and assembled into
an A unit body, I will update you again. Enough slacking, back to work...
