January 29-30th, 2021 Shop Work and Plowing Snow |
I moved the valves for the water crane from
the roundhouse West wall by the floor to out under the edge of the
upper grating where the steps are to climb up. The valves had to be reconfigured to work as they wouldn’t meet up with the hoses. We had the parts in our plumbing supply to cover the changes. The barrel sight gage was so dirty you couldn’t tell how full they were. I got the old one out and tried to clean it but it couldn’t be cleaned so off to Ace to get a new hose. I added some markings with a Sharpie so we can gauge the water depth. For those that don’t know, there are five 55 gallon barrels placed on racks strung along the top west wall of the roundhouse for water storage that can be sent out to the outside water crane. One valve allows the water to go out from the barrels and the other valve is to drain the line so it doesn’t freeze. The line needed plowing and switches cleaned out so I got out the plow and #25 and plowed out the line by myself. Click any picture and scroll thru the rest. Note the original and two variations of #25, to see examples of changes I do to prepare pictures for website use - Frolin |
