Nov. 8th, 2020 Clearing Leaves + Cleaning Cars |

The leaves were thick again at
Phelps and in the cut out of town going East. I got the blower out and did Phelps and down to the car barn while waiting for my help to come. Al Bell and Brayden came and I put Al to work on cleaning up caboose 559 as she was dirty both inside and out. Brayden and I took the blowers to the cut East out of Phelps while Al was cleaning. When we were done blowing, we put a work train together to change out some ties between Kat Jct and Hare Park [near MP 1.8]. Al did such a good job of washing 559, I asked him to do Alina. Brayden and I went over to just West of the West switch at Sumac and changed out about 6 ties. Back to Phelps, Al was done with Alina, so we put her on the end of the train and let her air dry while moving. I headed toward Clear Lake while Brayden filmed. I stopped at Hare Park to get some pics of our train as the sun was on the side and then it was off to Clear Lake I thought. The sun was on the side again at MP 3.2 so made a photo stop there. We tried to turn Alina at Clear Lake on the TT but she was to tall to fit under the tree (that was down across) so the conductor road backwards on the way back. It was a fun day on the Sandy Ridge.
